The resistance fist in the spoon symbolizes both joy and liberation from the cultural heritages I am a part of. They blend together the cultural practice of an Uzbek traditional dance that involves the use of decorative spoons as an instrumental tool and the recent event in 2021 of Palestinian prisoners who used spoons to escape out of their jail cells which became a newly celebrated resistance symbol. The spoons in this case are emerging out of the mosaics which take on a decorative representation of the ground below and its roots. The spoons expand its life form in existing as a vegetal presence and functional resistance symbol.
